Melbourne International 3 Day Event is just around the corner (7-10 at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre), and horses from around the country are preparing to line up and compete in 2*, 3* and 4* classes.
As in previous years, there are many off the track thoroughbreds amongst the entries. The CCIJ2* and CCI2* are both sponsored by Off The Track, and the event is currently running a competition via social media. Those with OTT horses in these two classes have the chance to win their class entry fee back ($430) by posting a photo of their horse with its competition name and racing name. The winner will be drawn at the Welcome Dinner on the Wednesday night.
We take a look at some of the 2* entries below — if you’re heading to the event, be sure to keep an eye out for these OTT stars!
Bronte Simpson Competition name – Newham. He also raced as Newham.
Andrew Cooper Omega Star, Burgoo.
Fleur Barling Wake me up raced as ‘wake me up’ which suited his short race career
Abby Plant’s Practice Makes Perfect (raced as Amen Rhythm) competing in the junior class
Oliver Barrett’s ‘Ballyhoo’ raced as ‘Fox of Donegal’.
