Renowned Oldenburg mare families convince
The Oldenburg elite mare show thrilled again in front of the impressive scenery of the Rasteder Schlosspark. The champion mares come from highly successful dam lines that have been maintained by Oldenburg breeders for generations.
Discovered in Vechta: Benice, born 2019, by Benefit out of Uthinga by Stedinger – De Niro – Figaro, bred by Helmut Kleen, Petersfehn, owned by Jos and Ingrid Blonk, Netherlands, was crowned the celebrated Champion Mare of the Verband der Züchter des Oldenburger Pferdes (OL). The outstanding mare, discovered as a foal at the auction in Vechta, from the Uthoba dam line scored in total 8.30 in her mare performance test. From the Uthoba line come the Grand Prix successful Gut Wettlkam’s Stand by me OLD/Lisa Müller, Sandro Boy/Lyndal Oatley, AUS, as well as Olympic star Jimmie Choo/Mads Hendeliowitz, SWE. As a special prize of honour, the Sigloo company from Hungary donated a birth detector for this year’s winner.
Silver in the lot of dressage mares went to Sarina, born 2018, by Finest Selection out of Sanetta by Diamond Hit – Sandro – Wettstreit, bred by Otto Langemeyer, Visbek. Dam Sanetta already produced seven auction candidates for Vechta, among them the licensed stallions Finery by Fürstenball and Don Gigolo by Dimaggio.
Bronze was awarded to Shadow Fairy Caledonia, born 2019, by Foundation out of Sugar Plum Fairy by Sir Donnerhall I – Don Schufro – Friedensherr, bred by Reay Campbell, Great Britain, ownend by Gestüt Schafhof, Kronberg. Sire Foundation shines under Matthias Alexander Rath of Gestüt Schafhof in the top class of dressage.
Out of an internationally successful 1.60 m dam: Lady Casina, OS, born 2019, by Casino Berlin out of Lady Lordana by Lordanos – Landor S – Contender, bred and owned by Gerd Sosath, Lemwerder, won the title of Champion Mare at the Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International (OS). The powerful jumping mare received an overall score of 8.48 in her performance test. The OS champion comes from the famous dam line of Heida. This line already produced the licensed stallion Cador, who was successful in advanced level jumping under Hendrik Sosath, as well as the 2014 OS champion mare Lady Cadora OLD. Lady Casina’s dam Lady Lordana impresses in 1.60 m jumping competitions under the breeder’s son Hendrik Sosath.
The silver medal among the OS mares went to Canberra, OS, born 2018, by Checkter out of White Rose by Cordalmé – Darco – Grannus, bred by Erich Stevens, Molbergen, owned by Mario Stevens, Molbergen. Dam White Rose was discovered as a foal at the Vechta auction and is the sister of the sire Kanndarco by Kannan.
Also bred and owned by Gerd Sosath is the Ic premium winning Lady Ogana, born 2019, by Ogano out of La Coruna by Catoki – Landor S – Contender. Lady Ogana’s third dam is also the third dam of the champion mare Lady Casina and also comes from the renowned Heida dam line. Mother La Coruna is internationally successful under the sport name Cadora with breeder daughter Janne Sosath Hahn.
