Oliver Townend leads, Shane Rose in 11th after first session of eventing dressage at Tokyo
By Equestrian Life
Shane Rose and Virgil have made a great start for the Australian eventing team at Tokyo, scoring 31.7 to sit in 11th spot after session one of the dressage.
Shane received the following scores from the three judges:
E 65.23% (14)
C 70.23% (7)
M 69.55% (8)
There was a nervous moment for Shane and all those watching on when the announcer incorrectly reported a score of 41.3 before all judges had completed their marks. This was swiftly corrected, but certainly a worrying minute!
Great Britain’s Oliver Townend and Ballaghmore Class lead the field on 23.6, ahead of Alex Hua Tian of China riding Don Geniro on 23.9, and Germany’s Julia Krajewski and Amande de B’Neville in third on 25.2. Japan’s Kazuma Tomoto is fourth on 26.1 with Vinci de la Vigne.
Session two of the dressage commences tonight at 6.30pm AEST, with Australians Kevin McNab and Scuderia 1918 Don Quidam in action at 7.28pm AEST.
