It was another picture perfect day at Boneo Park for the Pryde’s EasiFeed 2021 Australian Jumping Championships, with plenty of sunshine and a light breeze.

Today saw the headline class – the Pryde’s EasiFeed Australian Senior Championship – take place in the main arena in front of an enthusiastic crowd. It was a thrilling event, with young rider Olivia Hamood claiming the title on Jane Fonda DVD, finishing on just 7 penalties; Olivia carried over 3 penalties into the final, was clear in the first round and had just one rail in the second. The overnight leaders, Chris Chugg and Cera Cassiago, had to settle for second after accruing 12 penalties in the first round today; the pair jumped clear in the second round to hold the runner-up position. Third place went to the in-form Sam Overton and Oaks Cassanova on a total of 13.

Earlier in the afternoon, Olivia was also awarded the Katherine Quilty Memorial Award for the leading lady rider of the show – so it was a very successful show indeed for the Queenslander!

The Horseland Australian Junior Championship went to NSW’s Clemency Hughes riding Diamond B Corvina, who finished the event on a total of just 1 time penalty. Second place on 8 faults went to Anneliese Wansey and Grandiamo, while Georgia Price and Zara PPH were third.

The Racing Hearts Australian Young Rider Championship Final saw a two-horse race between Madi Sinderberry aboard Camie Z, and Conor Reed riding Leopoldo MVNZ. The pair couldn’t be split after two rounds, and in the jump-off, Madi claimed victory – again jumping clear, while Conor, unfortunately, had the last rail down. It really was down to the wire!

Yesterday’s action

There was plenty of action from the Pryde’s EasiFeed Main Arena on Saturday, beginning with the Beaconhills College Australian Children’s Championship. The title was won by Charlee Dobbin and Lovegrove, who were the only pair to move through to the final round on zero penalties. They had just one rail down, and with Imogen Lindh and Blackall Park Koraleigh on 5 faults, Charlee held onto the lead and claimed the Championship and was also in the placings with Glenshea Riversong. Her winning horse, Lovegrove, is apparently the trickier of the two and perhaps wasn’t Charlee’s tip for the top spot – but clearly, he was on the job today! Third place in the Championship went to Jack Barker and Mighty Tosca, who were just 1 penalty off second with 6.

The Kiernan Plant Hire Future Stars Championship went to young star Made Sinderberry and Balentino, who held their nerve in a tight four-horse jump off. Made finished on 0 penalties and a time of 46.52; Josh Collins and Yalambi’s Ikon, and Phil Stevens riding Baluce also jumped clear in times of 47.53 and 49.04 respectively. Stuart Jenkins rounded out the jump off with Fairview Cambridge on 4 faults.

The Interpath Mini Prix Final went to Sarah Duggan and Dublin, who jumped one of only two double clears to claim the win in 44.21 seconds. Second place went to Melissa Blair and Gigant Z on 46.01, while Rebecca Jenkins on Lola HH and Mattea Davidson and Checkamour D rounded out the jump off with 4 faults apiece.

In other classes, Paige Cartwright and Kitara Boizel took out the Equestrian Victoria Amateur Series Championship, while the Volpaia Park Emerald Series Final went to Teagan Chester and Callista.
