Bruce Springsteen & Patti Scialfa together raised an impressive $1.5 million dollars at the “Take Me to Tokyo” gala, for the U.S. Equestrian Team Foundation.
The event, which saw more than 500 guests was deemed a roaring success. The money that was raised at the gala will go towards supporting the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic equestrian teams, as they head towards the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Bruce Springsteen also auctioned off a signed Fender guitar and Harley Davidson motorcycle, which managed to raise more than $300,000.
Springsteen and Scialfa’s daughter, Jessica Springsteen, is a top showjumper for the US and has competed internationally. She will be vying for a place on the team for Tokyo.
Springsteen and Scialfa have been involved with horses for two decades, since Jessica began riding at the age of five. The pair assisted with a similar gala for the 2016 Rio Olympics, which raised more than $1 million.
