Stars shine on day two of 2021 PSI Dressage & Jumping With The Stars

It’s been an exciting day of action at Werribee, with outstanding performances in both the dressage and jumping arenas!

The second round of the Australian Young Dressage Pony classes took place today. In the 4YO class, it was Tamlyn Farm Calamity Jane who won on a score of 83.8% for Justin Worthy; Justin also had success in the 5YO class with Freemanslodge Divine Essence with a score of 84%. In the 6YO class, it was Belmore Park Perfect Timing and Faye Hinchliffe who claimed first place on 82%.

The three class winners then competed in the Australian Young Pony Champion of Champions, where Tamlyn Farm Calamity Jane was crowned the winner on 78.167%.

Today also saw the first round complete for some of the Australian Young Dressage Horse classes. Jayden Brown had another big day, winning the 5YO class with WillingaPark Tito on a huge score of 87.4%, and the 6YO class with WillingaPark Fangio on 86.8%. In the latter, the top three were all over 80% with Mary Hanna and Killimanjaro on 83.6% in second and Elliot Patterson and Riveroak Vogue third on 80.8%.

The second round for the 7YO Australian Young Dressage Horse class took place, with Jayden Brown and WillingaPark Quincy B winning on a score of 82.786%. in the 4YO class, it was again Imagine II for Maree Tomkinson that claimed first place – this time with an even bigger score of 89.8%.

Young riders also took to the arena today with the first round of the Marcus Oldham Challenge going to Alicia Ryan and Bluefields Furstentanz on 69.948%.

The Grand Prix class, which was live streamed today and can be rewatched in the video section of Equestrian Life’s Facebook page, was won by May Hanna and Calanta with a score of 73.696%. Lone Joergensen was second on Corinna scoring 72.522%, while John Thompson and JHT Chemistry were third on 71.392%. Jayden Brown and WillingaPark Sky Diamond rounded out a 70%+ top four with 71.065%!

Finally in the dressage arena, the Inter I Freestyle went to Jayden Brown riding WillingaPark Fusion scoring 77.433%, with Caroline Wagner placing second riding Penny Hill Park Sophia on 74.033%, ahead of Brooke Mance in third with Callum Park Freya and Shanon McKimmie fourth with Dance Salentin.

In the showjumping arena, young horses and seasoned competitors alike competed.

Round 2 of the Current Stars class went to Tom McDermott and Alpha Activity, ahead of Russell Johnstone and Dondersteen in second place, and Kate Hinschen riding Oaks Ventriliquist in third.

In the second round of the young horse classes, Nisha and Stephen Dingwall won the 4YO, Tulara Dakchico and Billy Raymont won the 5YO, in the 6YO there was a tie for first between Yalambi’s Kandy Ripple ridden by Tom McDermott, and Billy Raymont riding Cera Cadbury Z. Yalambi’s Jadore and Kate Hinschen won the 7YO class.

In the 6yo Round 2, Tom McDermott rode Yalambi’s Kandy Ripple into equal first place.
