Less than two weeks after competing at Tokyo 2020, the Swiss showjumper Clooney 51 ridden by Martin Fuchs has suffered a serious shoulder injury.

Fuchs and Clooney placed 16th in the Individual Jumping Final in Tokyo, and would have had their sights set on the FEI Jumping European Championship in Riesenbeck at the start of September.

In a statement posted to his social media yesterday, Martic Fuchs said, “This morning Clooney hurt himself after he slipped and fell on the field.”

“He injured his right shoulder very seriously and everyone involved is doing their best for Clooney’s well being.”

He is in the Zurich Hospital and we are trying to make a retirement on the field possible.

At this time I have no further information and will keep everyone updated.”
