Isabell Werth and Emilio will compete in the first event of the World Cup Dressage season this weekend in Denmark

Many of Europe’s top dressage riders and horses will compete this weekend at the World Cup Herning event in Aarhus, Veilhemsborg. Isabell Werth, who has won the World Cup three times, will ride Emilio, while fellow Germans Jessica von Bredow Werndl and Helen Langehanenberg will also be competing on their exciting horses Zaire-E and Damsey.
Danish star Cathrine Dufour will no doubt be the home crowd favourite with Bohemian, while Sweden’s Patrik Kittel will ride Delaunay Old and Therese Nilshagen will be in action with Dante Weltino.
Andreas Helgstrand will make a comeback on the Danish dressage team, partnering 3 times winner of the young horse world championship; Fiontini by Fassbinder.
Aarhus, Vilhelmsborg is the first of six regular season shows in the Western European League, with events lined up for Lyon, Salzburg, Mechelen, Neumunster and ‘s-Hertogenbosch before the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final in Gothenburg in April.
The World Cup Herning show runs from the 12th – 18th October and features both dressage and jumping classes. The FEI World Cup dressage classes will take place this weekend, on the 17th and 18th October. More information can be found on the event website.
