Toorak College has a prominent history in the sport of equestrian with a number of notable Collegians including Garryowen winners Stephanie Barrington (TC ’08) and Sara Love (TC ’80), Olympian Amanda Ross (’91), Olympic RDA coach Sally Francis (TC ’78) and Adelyn Fallon (TC ’13), who competes in FEI Show Jumping.
Toorak College’s equestrian program is unique in that we allow students from Prep right through to Year 12 the opportunity to participate. Based in Mount Eliza, we are lucky to be able to offer our students access to a wide range of quality facilities, including Boneo Park.
Training clinics and events form the bulk of our program and we often bring in elite instructors, such as Heath Ryan. Students are also encouraged to compete throughout the year in a number of Victorian Equestrian Interschool events and in 2017 Toorak College was named the Equestrian Victoria State Champions.
Being part of the Toorak College equestrian team requires a lot of hard work and commitment. Not just for the students but for the families too. We have a fantastic Friends of Equestrian group and our families are always supporting each other.
