Top ten finishes for Aussie eventers at World Young Horse Championships

The FEI WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championship for Young Horses took place at Mondial du Lion, Le Lion d’Angers (France) over the weekend, with several Australian combinations in action.
In the 6-year-old division, Isabel English finished sixth with Sumas Tina Turner (by QUANTINO x SUMAS FANNY BRICE by ARKANSAS) on a dressage score of 31.4, while Katja Weimann was seventh riding Baumann’s Dark Mark (by DOUGLAS VDL x HERA by HERALDIK XX) — adding just 2.4 cross country time faults to their dressage score to finish on a total of 31.6.
Olympian Kevin McNab also enjoyed a great ride in the class, finishing in 14th with Faro IMP (by F-ONE USA x VORBUCH 1 by MASTER IMP)on 33.9. He says this horse is one that he’s very excited about for the future!
The 6-year-old class was won by France’s Thomas Carlile and Golden de Beliard AA (by UPSILON x VIEUSINGE DU MAURY by JALIENNY) on a score of 27.6.
In the 7-year-old division, Bill Levett was the highest placed Aussie in 16th place riding Shannondale Archie (by SHANNONDALE SARCO ST GHYVAN x CURRAGHTOWN FLIGHT by LUZ Z); the pair finished on their dressage score of 30.6. Isabel English and Cil Dara Dallas (by DIARADO x KOYUNA BLUE PEARL by KOYUNA QUARTERBACK) were 30th on 36.2, while Lissa Green and Expo Di Alma Terra (by BAEDEKER x PREZIOSA DI VILLAGANA by CALIDO) were 56th.
The 7-year-old class was won by Germany’s Anna Lena Schaaf riding Lagona OLD (by LAVAGON x ILE DE CARTINA by CARTANI 4), who led from start to finish on a super dressage score of 18.6.
