The much-loved dressage legend Valegro has had a street named after him and a statue unveiled in his honour.
The statue of the Dutch Warmblood gelding was unveiled in his hometown of Newent, England last month, and now one of its streets has also been named after Valegro.
Part of an 80-house development in the Gloucestershire town, ‘Valegro Avenue’ was visited by Carl Hester earlier this month.
In a post to his Instagram, Carl Hester said he was delighted by the honour given to the special gelding.
“This is not the street I live on but definitely a street I wanted to visit!” the post read.

Carl also took to his social media in February to share the news of Valegro’s statue unveiling, describing the setting of the statue as “could not be more English”.
“He changed so many of our lives and elevated our sport so this is a really proud moment for myself, Charlotte and everyone who has been involved with this very special horse. Thank you to the sculptor Georgie Welch and all involved who made this happen,” said Carl on Instagram.”
