Victorian Dressage Festival wraps up at Werribee

The final day of the Hygain Victorian Dressage Festival was the warmest yet, providing a little glimpse of summer. Sunday’s highlight was the Grand Prix Freestyle, where six combinations danced their way through their tests.

It was yesterday’s Grand Prix winners, Pauline Carnovale and Captain Cooks, who impressed the judges and won the class on 73.517%. Jayden Brown and Senator Nymphenburg were second on 72.442%, while young rider Jessica Dertell was third riding Eskara De Jeu to 69.275%. Pauline Carnovale and Captain Cooks were the Grand Prix Champions.

Jessica Dertell was awarded the Junior Rider Championship.

In the Inter A/B Freestyle, it was Olivia Gillespie and Versace I who won with a score of 68.308%, with the pair claiming the Medium Tour Championship.

In the Medium, it was Karen Blythe and Sonic K who claimed the 4B on 74.325% with Jayden Brown and WillingaPark Fangio the runners up. In the 4C the tables were turned, with Jayden finishing ahead on 77.564%, meaning he narrowly claimed the overall Medium Championship.

Clair Arnold won the Pony Medium Championship with Fawks Crocodile Rock; the pair won the 4C, while Jessica Dertell and Kizashi won the 4B.

In the Young Horse and Pony classes, round 2 of the 4YO Young Horse went to Jackson Stern and Santas Girl on 70.8%;  round 2 of the 4YO Young Pony went to Natasha Moody and Penmain Diamonte on 70.8%; round 2 of the 5YO Young Horse went to Maree Tomkinson on Imagine II with 88.8%; and the 5YO Young Pony went to Leisha Salter and Brookside Grand Illusion on 74.4%.

Stella Barton and Falcon Disco Hit won the Grade I Individual Test, while Maddison Cooke and Byalee Magic II won the Grade II Individual Test.
