The Victorian team captains have been announced for the Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships, to be held 1-5 October at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre.

They are:

Victorian Team Captain:
Georgie Batten

Dressage Captain: Shanae Jenkinson

Show Jumping Captain: Edward Darby

Eventing Captain: Ruby Crofts

Combined Training Captain: Ella Pusterla

Show Horse Captain: Jessica Payne

Georgie Batten said, “I am very honoured to lead the Victorian team and I look forward to working with my co-captains and team managers to strive for success while ensuring that everyone has a great time.”

Lisa Hocking, Chair of Interschool Victoria, said the captains were selected on the basis of their equestrian experience, seniority and leadership qualities.

“The captains will have the responsibility of leading the Victorian team of more than 100 riders and playing host to the national event that will feature more than 400 riders from across Australia, as well as competing their horses in their respective disciplines.”

Equestrian Victoria CEO Matthew Brown congratulated the captains, saying “These young people represent the pinnacle of interschool equestrian sports in Victoria and should be proud of their achievements.”
