William Matthew & Warwick McLean place in Wickrath Grand Prix

By Equestrian Life

Australian riders William Matthew and Warwick McLean stepped out at Schloss Wickrath Dressage in Germany over the weekend to both place in the Kl. S*** (Inter II).

William rode Freischütz (Foundation x Del Martino) to third place on a score of 71.535%,  while Warwick was fifth with Sir Heinrich M (Sir Donnerhall I x Ferragamo) on 69.211%.

William, who works part-time for Isabell Werth and also runs his own training business, has trained Freischutz since the horse was seven and this year they had their Inter II debut with 73%. The nine-year-old gelding is owned by Madeline Winter-Schultze.

Sir Heinrich M is a 15-year-old gelding owned by Family Wolff-Kamke, and Warwick has said this horse is being prepared for the owner to take over the reins and compete on the Under-25 circuit.
