The Willinga Park team is mourning the loss of WillingaPark Theodore, an Australian Olympic hopeful for Tokyo 2020.
The 12-year-old KWPN gelding became ill in mid-June, and after three weeks of intense treatment at the Sydney University Equine Hospital, he passed away. Post-mortem results revealed a cancerous tumour near his right kidney.
“We are devastated by the loss of this beautiful horse,” said Terry Snow of Willinga Park. “It’s a great shame that Australia will never again get the opportunity to watch Theodore compete. We will remember him always.”
Mr Snow bought Theodore on a trip to Europe in 2018 after being impressed with his high-quality breeding, outstanding performance and beautiful temperament. Theodore came to Australia in December to begin a partnership with recognised dressage rider Brett Parbery and attend the nominated selection events for the Australian Olympic Team selection for Tokyo 2020.

“WillingaPark Theodore will be sadly missed,” said Mr Snow.
