Chris Waller will produce his big guns early next week with news that both Winx and The Autumn Sun are listed to trial tomorrow at Rosehill.

For Winx, it will be her second trial for the preparation and possibly the final-ever trial she will contest as she nears a return to her farewell campaign when shooting for a 30th-consecutive win in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes at Randwick on February 16.

The Autumn Sun, racing’s new star in waiting after his Caulfield Guineas blitz last spring, will trial nine minutes after Winx tomomrrow, also over 1000 metres, in what will  be his first public outing for 2019.

The Autumn Sun, who will be up against the likes of Lean Mean Machine, Oohood and Unforgotten in today’s trial is expected to race first-up in the G2 Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill on February 23 before his first autumn Group 1 test in the $1 million Randwick Guineas on March 9.

Winx, who this week was confirmed as the world’s leading racehorse in 2018 along with UK galloper Cracksman, may have one more exhibition gallop before her return, at the Rosehill meeting on February 2.
