Day two of the Australian Para Dressage Championships is complete, with some great performances across all grades!
“It was a great second day of competition here down at Boneo,” says Grade 4 competitor Zoe Vorenas. “Jade (Woodhead) and the team are working tirelessly and things are running incredibly well! We had a change up of order today, beginning with Grades 4 and 5 in the CPEDI and then in the CPEDN and EA para tests.”
CPEDI Grade 3
Emma Booth and Mogelvangs Zidane produced an outstanding Individual Test for a huge score of 73.088%. Emma will be very pleased with this score as she continues on her path towards selection for the Tokyo Paralympics.
Second place went to Elizabeth Anne Skinner and Chance E, while Aimee Prout and Karamea Woods Takhi were third.
“Emma rode a beautiful test and took the win on her boy, Zidane. Great to see Anne and Aimee’s scores on the improve, and such wonderful camaraderie within the Para ranks. These competitions are such a friendly environment!” says Zoe.
CPEDI Grade 4
It was a close contest in the Grade 4 Individual Test, with Sharon Jarvis and Romanos taking out first place on 73.252% — just ahead of Zoe Vorenas and Neversfeld Kipling on 71.870%.
“Sharon put on a wonderful test with her new mount, and was rewarded with a fantastic score! Really exciting for Sharon,” says Zoe. “Kip (Neversfeld Kipling) had a great test, putting a 71.8% towards our Tokyo campaign. Now just to get a bit more oomph in the ring and hopefully we will see those marks creep up.”
Third went to Claire Graham on Der Beste, while Phoebe Roche and Saddle Up Romper Stomper were fourth.
“Phoebe and Saddle Up Romper Stomper did a great job, particularly since Phoebe has recently been unwell and is only just back in the saddle after 4 months,” explains Zoe.
CPEDI Grade 5
Melanie Diolock and Lacara D were first in the Grade 5 Individual Test on 60.595%, while Stuart Drysdale and Amalfi 20 were the runners up.
CPEDI Grade 2
“The Grade 2 Individual Test proved to be a competitive class with Jo on her new mount. A few things to work out, but such an exciting future ahead of them. Bridget is really starting to shine in the ring and it’s great to see her scores reflecting her hard work. Victoria Davies was our winner in the Grade 2, after a great test with her beautiful boy, Eddy (Andaluka Elegido). She does a great job with all her horses!” reports Zoe.
Victoria and Andaluka Elegido scored 68.186% to win the class, with Bridget Murphy and Dracmoore Flirtacious coming in second, and Joann Formosa third with Sirrah Park Cameo.
