Australian Para Dressage Championships wrap up with fantastic Freestyles

By Equestrian Life

The Leader Equine Australian Para Dressage Championships concluded today at Boneo Park with the FEI Freestyles tests across two grades.

The Grade 4 saw another win to Olympian Sharon Jarvis, riding Romanos. The pair scored an impressive 75.258%. Second place again went to Claire Graham riding Der Beste with a score of 69.025%, while Phoebe Roche and Saddle Up Romper Stomper finished third on 62.425%. Zoe Vorenas and Little Brave withdrew from the final day of competition.

In the Grade 5, Team Test winners Stuart Drysdale and Blueberry 20 claimed another win, scoring 70.617%. Second place went to Noella Angel and Mallee Jack on 60.7%. The winners of Saturday’s Individual Test, Dianne Barnes and Cil Dara Cosmic, withdrew — as did Melanie Diplock and Lacara D.

Both Victoria Davies, who won the Team Test and Individual Test with Andaluka Elegido, and Kellie Tinworth riding Quamby Park Showmil, withdrew from the Grade 2 Freestyle, meaning the class was cancelled. There were no competitors entered for the Grade 1 or Grade 3 events.

Congratulations to all competitors who braved some challenging weather to turn in some great performances across the three days of competition!

Alongside the FEI para dressage competition, the event — organised by Carlton Performance Horses — also ran EA para dressage classes, Preliminary to Grand Prix tests and even HRCAV tests. You can access full event results here.
