Extended trot is probably a crowd favorite. It’s the pace where everyone applauds and it’s the one that can look super fancy. All the same there are principles that need to be adhered to in dressage that give the marks from 0 to 10 at 0.5 increments for that movement. It is possible to win at Grand Prix with an average extended trot and the transitions in and out, as there are only a total of 30 marks constituting for 6.5% of the total, to extended trot and transitions. With piaffe and passage they carry 160 marks or 34.8%. So Extended trot isn’t the most important but great to have!
