Sweden's Rolf-Göran Bengtsson will focus on the 2015 Longines Global Champions Tour with his top horse the 16-year-old stallion Casall ASK says the horse's co-owner Holsteiner Verband CEO Norbert Boley. In an interview with Reiter Revue International, Boley revealed that Casall would be "used especially in the Longines Global Champions Tour" and that the rest of the 2015 season would be planned "step by step".

Bengtsson, 52, has battled hard in the Championship ever since the Tour began ten years ago, but he has not yet been unable to clinch the overall title. The former European Champion claimed runner-up position in 2012 behind Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) and again in 2014 behind Scott Brash (GBR), both times on the same points as the winners but with less wins during the season.

With the incredible Casall coming to the final years of his career a little short of a strong Olympic campaign next year, Bengtsson appears to be focussing the efforts of his star ride on one of the showjumping world's crown jewels, the Longines Global Champions Tour Championship title - a lucrative and prestigious accolade which has eluded him thus far. Beginning in Miami Beach from 2-4 April, this year's Tour looks set to be a firecracker as all the best riders in the world begin to turn their attention to the coveted title of Champion of Champions.
