Horsemanship at The Hamilton and Alexandra College is an exciting component of the College’s broad and progressive curriculum. The programme thrives with both Junior and Senior students enjoying the benefits of all that the Equestrian Centre at the College offers. The School is a Co-educational Day and Boarding school from ELC through to Year 12 in Hamilton in Victoria’s beautiful Western District.  With an allweather flood lit arena together with ample stabling, a cross country course, weekly riding lessons with experienced instructors and the opportunity to have your horse at school, the College equestrian programme is the ultimate for any horse lover!

 

 

 

 

Many students board at the College. The boarding house is situated next door to the Equestrian Centre providing every student with immediate access to their horse and the associated facilities. 

 

 

 

 

New Director of Horsemanship Amanda te Boekurst lives on site and brings a wealth of experience to the role. Amanda plays a pivotal part in the success of the Horsemanship programme and is always accessible to the students. Amanda who has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology has been riding since she was five and has been widely involved with eventing, showjumping and dressage up to Grade 1 PCAV level. She is currently completing her Equestrian Australia level 1 coaching qualification which will further extend her knowledge and skills.

 

 

 

 

Students at the College are also able to extend their equestrian knowledge by undertaking Equine Industry as a VCE subject. The College is a Registered Training Organisation for this subject.

 

 

 

 

The College’s equestrian students have access to regular competition with Western District Interschool Championships, Interprimary Games Day, various clinics and Showjumping training nights as well as the Victorian Interschool State Championships at Werribee all part of the years’ events.
