Amanda Ross and Koko Popping Candy have been crowned the 2019 Australian Eventing Champions at Wandin Park in Victoria! The pair won the CCI4* (previously CCI3*) class on a score of 33.70, just ahead of Callum Buczak and Matavia Cheval on 35.4.

The event saw close to 650 entries in total, with the major class the biggest it has been since 2002!

Amanda and her talented black mare posted the score to beat after the dressage with just 25.7 penalties. They then were clear and under time on the cross country. With a big lead heading into the final jumping phase, two rails down wasn’t a problem and the pair held on to first place! Amanda also took third place with Dicavalli Diesel on 36.9 penalties, and fifth place with Dondiablo on 53.80. What an effort! Madeline Wilson and I’m Bruce were fourth on 44.2.

The CCI3* (previously CCI2*) winner was Del Ogilvy and Precious Dreams on 33.6, ahead of Simon Tainsh and Punching in a Dream on 37.4. Third place went to Megan Jones and RLE Barina on 38.

The CCI2* (previously CCI1*) was broken into two classes due to a large number of entries. Division one went to Ben Tyson and Equineaffair Cassanova on 29.2, while division two went to Samuel Jeffree and Woodmount Lolita on 33.9.

The CCN2* (previously CCN1*) went to Angus Wilkinson and Heronwater Beetle.

The CCN1* (previously EVA 105) was also broken into a number of divisions. Division one went to Ruby Crofts and CP Astabelle on 33.9, division two went to Kirilee Hosier and AEA Flynn on 25.8, and division 3 went to Grace Contessi and Sharvalley Music on 27.8.

EVA 95 open division winners included Leanne Le Claire and Ashbend Bewitched, Rebekah Staindl and Acacia Ridge Riley, and Kristal Wheeler and BP Joie De Vivre on 29.5. The EVA 95 interschool winners were Bridget O’Dwyer and Rushin Along, and Molly Lines and Tadpole. Tania Harding and The Little Guy won the Unofficial 95 class.

The EVA 80 open division winners were Jessica Metcalfe and Chloe, Eliza Mylon and Revelwood Rock Hit, Laura Wallace and Nouveau Heights BHS, and Regina Knobel and Hillview Park Final Fling. In the interschool divisions, the winners were Chloe Brooks and Snowy River Masterpiece, and Hannah Bird and Emmaville Desire. Gabriella Van Vuren on Tilly Devine, and Regina Bell one Emas were successful in the Unofficial 80 classes.

Finally, the Unofficial 65 classes saw plenty of entries across four divisions. The winners were McCarty Tess in Cariboo Creek, Jasmyn Beesley and Jazdan Spellbound, Laura Wallace and Tanglewood Christmas Spirit, and April Robinson on Bobby.

Congratulations to all on a fabulous event!
