Chris Chugg and Cristalline Shine on World Stage

Chris Chugg and the ever talented Cristalline shone at the Longines FEI World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden.

 

26 combinations took to the 16 jumps encased by a small oval arena. 

 

Cristalline owned by Gabrielle Kuna, the youngest horse in the field impressed the 13,000 strong crowd as Chris guided her around the 1.60m track.

 

After the first two rounds Chris and Cristalline had secured a final berth in the Round B jump off. 

 

Twenty combination were through with the Olympic Champion Steve Guerdat aiming for his second win.

 

Chris drew 7th in the order of go and produced a faultless round to the delight of the crowd.  With no jumping penalties and a time of 63.77 it was the second fastest round of the evening. Chris was carrying the 16 penalties from Round A.

 

As combinations continued it was a final against the Swiss, Netherland and German riders to battle it our for the top three placings.

 

The final standings saw Cristalline finish in a credible tenth position, an amazing result from such a young mare in her first major international competition and with Chris at the helm this mare is one to watch for the future.
