Equitana Australia has confirmed the highly popular equestrian event will return to Melbourne in July.

After being forced to postpone the event traditionally held in November, organisers have now officially announced the competition and education equine extravaganzas will return to the Melbourne Showgrounds from 8-11 July.

Attracting around 50,000 visitors each year, the event has been called the ‘premier all-encompassing equestrian event in the southern hemisphere’.

It is expected that COVID-19 restrictions will require a slight change to how the event is run, but the general feel amongst with Australian equestrian world is one of excitement as the four-day celebration of everything horse-related draws closer.

However, if visitors from northern areas of Australia thought Equitana was normally on the chilling side in November, that is nothing compared to what temperatures will be like in the middle of winter!

Educator applications are currently open for the event, with organisers due to release the program in the coming months.
