Lucinda has confirmed the sale of her top horse, Flying Finish.  Lucinda commented “We are all so sad to say goodbye to Flying Finish who has been my top horse for the past three years”.  She added “Flying Finish’s sale has been very important towards securing my and Ellie’s future at Rosegarth as our home and training base”.

Donald Reid found Flying Finish in Germany in 2009 with the intention of having fun on him at 1* but his business commitments prevented this from happening.  Lucinda continued to train this horse from the start of his eventing career.  He finished 2nd at Vairano CCI3* and 2nd at Luhmuhlen 4* in 2012, resulting in his selection for the London Olympics.  This was only two years after he did his first 1*.

Lucinda added “I will always be very grateful to Richard Ames for stepping in to help me keep the ride on Flying Finish soon after the Olympics, we have had a lot of fun and success over the last few years.  Flying Finish will now be ridden by Caroline Powell who is an amazing XC rider.  I am honoured that she has taken him on, it will be exciting to see the new partnership competing next season”.

As well as having to sell Flying Finish, Tim and Alice Page’s horse, MR Sydney Rocks has also been sold to a lovely new home in America with Allison Springer.  This now presents an opportunity for interested parties to join Lucinda’s team with new horses, enabling her to continue her career and to aim for Rio Olympics and the next WEG.

Lucinda is currently busy teaching clinics, both in the UK and abroad, and is looking forward to being back in the saddle within a week, having recovered from her broken arm.
