PBs on the final day of the Leader Equine Dressage Spectacular CPEDI

The final day of the Leader Equine Dressage Spectacular saw fabulous Freestyles on the main arena across the para classes.

The CPEDI3* Grade V Grand Prix Freestyle was won by Lisa Martin and Vilaggio on a PB score of 75.667%. It’s been a successful weekend for Lisa, who finished first and second in both the Grand Prix A and B classes aboard Vilaggio and Juicy Wiggle respectively.

Chelsea De Jonge finished second in the CPEDI3* Grade V Grand Prix Freestyle with Don Dancier on 70.383%, while Stuart Drysdale recorded a PB of 70.050% for third with Blueberry 20.

In the CPEDI3* Grade III Grand Prix Freestyle, Felicity Weal and Bloomfield Shameless posted a PB of 60.300% to win the class.

The CPEDI3* Grade IV Grand Prix Freestyle was a hotly contested class with seven combinations in action. Zoe Vorenas and WIS Forte won the test on 71.058%, which was a PB for the combination. Second place went to Di Barnes and Sorena on 70.558%, while Louise Duncan of New Zealand finished third riding Showcase BC on 69.592%.

Bridget Murphy capped of a fantastic weekend with Penmain Promise, achieving their third straight PB score with an impressive 71.889% in the CPEDI3* Grade II Grand Prix Freestyle. Kate Nipperess and SW Cruiser finished second on 67.056%, while Maddison Cooke and Byalee Magic II scored 66.389% for third place.

Stella Barton and Lord Larmarque won the CPEDI3* Grade I Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 71.745%.

CPEDI2* classes

The CPEDI2* Grade IV Intermediate Freestyle was won by Darcy MacAulay riding Parklands Faltango, with the pair scoring 66.438%, while the CPEDI2* Grade V Intermediate Freestyle went to Claire Skerman and Regal Quickstep with 66.063%.

Anne Skinner and Ballangeich Run Filou won the CPEDI2* Grade III Intermediate Freestyle on 68.184%. In the CPEDI2* Grade II Intermediate Freestyle, Rebecca Webber and off the track Thoroughbred Glenayre Skyline won on 60.667%, while in the CPEDI2* Grade I Intermediate Freestyle Kellie Tinworth and rescue horse Augustine KT scored 60.317% to win the class.

Virtus riders in action

The Virtus II1 Freestyle went to the 2023 Virtus Global Games gold and silver medallist Sarah Sherwood and Dicavalli Royal Guess, scoring 65.963%. In the Virtus II2, dual Virtus Global Games gold medallist Sui Watts scored 61.701% to win with Gem Park Guess.

Prior to the para classes, the morning kicked off with the CDI1* Inter I Freestyle where Dallas Mills and Redwood Desire enjoyed a win on 69.417%.
