Queenslanders prove unbeatable: Billy Raymont and Caprino Shine in World Cup Qualifier

By Equestrian Life

Queensland’s Billy Raymont was on top form today, securing the leading win in the National Storage World Cup Qualifier on star gelding Caprino (Yalambis Carpino Z x Oaks Dreamtime by Clearway). In front of a packed home crowd at Larapinta Equestrian, the combination were the only ones to go clear in both rounds of World Cup Qualifier today; with course designer Graeme Watts’ giving the riders plenty to work for to get into the placings.

Billy shared of his ride "I'm super happy with the horse today, we had a little bit of a different idea and ride (for today), and he loved it.”

It was experienced rider Gemma Creighton and imported gelding Dada des Brimbelles Z (Darco x President) who placed second in the class, with just a slight rub in the first round landing them with 4 faults. Mattea Davidson followed up her results at Shepparton World Cup aboard Jaybee Vigilante (Vivant van de Heffinck x Jet Set D), rounding out the top 3.
