The Trakehner Stallion Market in Neumunster, Germany is the highlight of the global Trakehner breeder calendar, where future jumping, dressage and show stars can be purchased from an exclusive auction.

Held from the 16th to the 19th of October, this year’s event hosted over 12,500 spectators deperate to see the small number of approved stallions and riding horses that were exhibited.

Sansibar (Millennium x Susaya, by Cadeau) was crowned champion stallion of the market and was purchased for a hefty  €300,000 by Eva-Maria Aufrecht, head of the Austrian Stud “Unter den Birken”.

Octavian, the second highest selling stallion and also by Millennium, was sold for €100,000 to Bavaria.

Only sixteen young stallions were approved at this year’s licencing, with breeders, owners and spectators being treated to a display of quality as five stallions were awarded premium status.

Other stallions included the American bred Davidas (Horales x Inschallah) and reserve licensing champion High Motion (by Saint Syr x Summertime).
