Whitmere Lollipop Awarded 2015 Royal Melbourne Horse Show Best of Show Championship

The prestigious 2015 Royal Melbourne Horse Show Best of Show Champion has been awarded to Whitmere Lollipop exhibited by Michelle Labahn of Healesville, VIC, on Sunday.
 
Presented by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), over 4,000 entries were received for Australia’s largest horse breed show, which is held over four days on the Australia Day long weekend at the Werribee Park Equestrian Centre, finishing on Monday.
 
RASV CEO Mr Mark O’Sullivan said the much-coveted award had a long history of impressive winners, with this year’s champion a much deserved addition. 
 
“RASV congratulates Michelle Labahn on winning the prestigious Best of Show Championship at the 2015 Royal Melbourne Horse Show with her mare Whitmere Lollipop. We received a large number of entries this year to the Royal Melbourne Horse Show and the caliber of competition has been outstanding.” Mr O’Sullivan said. 
 
The chestnut mare riding pony become eligible to enter the Best of Show after being awarded Supreme Champion Led Open Breed, in her first time at the Royal Melbourne Horse Show since competing as a yearling.
 
“We are absolutely delighted to see such a small pony take out the award in such a quality field. It was just a complete thrill to be Best of Show,” said exhibitor Michelle Labahn, who has owned the riding pony from six months old.
 
Best of Show Runners Up were awarded to; Toolleen Timothy exhibited by Bruce Hamblin; Simply Exquisite exhibited by Mark Kenzig and Judy Ivory; Manorvale Blue and Royal exhibited by Sara Love and Saravale Fully Focus exhibited by Sarah Beaumont. 
 
Judging of the 2015 Royal Melbourne Horse Show was conducted by nationally and internationally acclaimed experts.
