Why Consider Rugging In Autumn And Winter?

Rugging is an option we all need to consider for our horse’s health and wellbeing. It’s important to find the appropriate style and size to ensure your horse is protected from the often harsh elements of Autumn and Winter.

It’s vital to get your money’s worth when buying a rug and that means you need to get the correct style of rug otherwise there’s no benefit for your horse or your back pocket!

If you live in a cold location like Tasmania, you will need a different rug in winter than you would in a warmer climate such as in the Northern Territory. Eurohunter has have created a set of icons to help you choose the best rug for your horse.
The warmth rating ranks the rugs from least warm (1) to warmest (5), this means you can pick which rug best suits your location.
Plus we have also ranked the fibre fill in grams, the higher the number the warmer the rug. And we have also provided a denier rating which is the outer fabric’s toughness, this protects the fibre within and your horse.

The combination of waterproof and breathable technology has created the durable solution of our Eurohunter synthetic rugs, made to withstand the harshest winter. The polyester fleece lining keeps your horse warm and many of our rugs are also fitted with safety reflective piping. If you’re located in a cold area of Australia it’s worth considering a synthetic rug as these handle the coldest and wettest winter conditions.
